DFARS Rule Makes Technical Amendments

A final rule issued by the Department of Defense makes technical amendments to the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement. The rule provides editorial changes and guidance to contracting officers. Among the changes are the addition of DFARS 204.403, DFARS 205.207 (a)(i) and (d)(iii), DFARS 215.407-2 (a), DFARS 219.202-1, DFARS 219.301-2, DFARS 219.301-3, DFARS 237.102-75, and DFARS 237.102-76. These new provisions direct COs to additional procedures and guidance by adding references to the DFARS companion resource, Procedures, Guidance, and Information. Another change amends DFARS 217.171 to reflect a statutory threshold for multiyear contracts for services that was inadvertently omitted from a September 20, 2011, DoD final rule ( ¶70,016.676). The rule also revises the heading of DFARS Subpart 217.5 to read "Interagency Acquisitions." A complete listing of all the DFARS provisions impacted by the rule appears in the regulation table below. The effective date of this final rule is December 7, 2011. For the text of the rule, see ¶70,016.690.
