The legal thesaurus was created specifically for CCH content. When this option is selected, the system will automatically look for synonyms of your search terms in addition to the terms you typed. To turn off the thesaurus, deselect this option.
You can turn this feature on and off within Preferences or Search Tools.
Options set within Search Tools remain in effect during
your current research session only. If you click the Clear Selections
or Clear Search links, those options will be cleared immediately. Use
the Preferences link to have the thesaurus on for all searches you run.
Using the Search Tools button:
You can view synonyms of your search terms right in Search Tools.
Just type the term in the box within the Thesaurus section and click the View Synonyms button. Terms will appear in the box next to the button.
