
COMPUTER LAW SEMINAR
Acquiring a computer system. A legal
seminar, entitled "Acquiring a Computer System Instead of Unwarranted
Litigation," will be held from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23
in Riverwoods, Illinois.
Sponsored by ITIP Institute, the program will
address the drafting and negotiating of key provisions in computer acquisitions
contracts and the allocation of risks between the parties. Topics to be covered
include:
(1) Planning to acquire a
computer system;
(2) The computer contracting
environment;
(3) An overview of computer
contracts concepts;
(4) Source code escrow;
(5) Open source;
(6) Green technology;
(7) Ancillary agreements; and
(8) Negotiating tips.
The program will be conducted by Alan S. Wernick, a
Chicago attorney with a nationwide practice focused on providing practical and
strategic legal advice to clients on significant technology, electronic commerce
and intellectual property transactions, data privacy, and security. Additional
