Securities Regulation Daily offers new weekly feature: IPO Tracker

The new IPO Tracker feature is designed to keep you up to date on developments in initial public offerings. The IPO Tracker gives a snapshot of the previous week’s IPO activity, including new registrations and completed deals.

The IPO Tracker is compiled using the exclusive Wolters Kluwer IPO Vital Signs database, which gathers, stores, and analyzes more than 200 individual details about an IPO filing.

The following is an IPO Tracker excerpt from Securities Regulation Daily on September 16 (note the convenient link to access the week’s activity):

New registrants. It is shaping up to be another busy autumn for the IPO market, as 14 more new registrants joined the pipeline. The week’s activity included new registrations filed by three companies—Dave & Buster’s Entertainment, Energy & Exploration Partners and Israel Chemical—making a second attempt at going public after having withdrawn earlier IPO registrations. It also included five filings by companies headquartered outside the U.S.

The IPO Tracker can be found under the Securities Regulation Daily Wrap Up. If you subscribe to Securities Regulation Daily, click here for access.

New book: Trade Sanctions and International Sales. An Inquiry into International Arbitration and Commercial Litigation

Trade sanctions are powerful political tools devised to prevent the conclusion of new commercial contracts and paralyze the performance of pre-existing ones. Following the imposition of a sanction, a party prohibited from performing its obligations under a validly concluded contract may resolve to withhold performance or performance may de facto and be prevented by measures of enforcement of the sanction. If this party therefore fails to perform its obligations, its contracting partner may decide to initiate legal proceedings.

The author offers solutions to issues faced by arbitral tribunals and domestic courts when one party raises the existence of a sanction to support its claim to be freed from its contractual obligations. Click here for more information and to order.

New book: International Arbitration and Cross-Border Insolvency. Comparative Perspectives

This book provides an in-depth analysis of applicable rules and policies under the current legal framework and case law of national courts and arbitral tribunals, emphasizing developments in five countries where high levels of international arbitration occur: England, the United States, France, Germany and Switzerland. TRAINING & CUSTOMER SUPPORT

Training Tip for IntelliConnect

Question: How can I quickly find precedential decisions that have similar goods/services and marks at issue?
Answer: If you subscribe to WK Trademark Navigator, it’s easy to locate precedential decisions by topic. From IntelliConnect, launch the WK Trademark Navigator (if it’s part of your organization’s subscription) by clicking Product Launch (top menu) and selecting WK Trademark Navigator.

From WK Trademark Navigator’s Home page, locate the TTAB Case Database section and click TTAB Precedential Decisions Comparison Chart. This tool lets you quickly create charts for topics and years (back to 2007). Charts include links to the full text of the case, the case disposition, and the goods/services and mark at issue, so you can quickly determine whether you need to look at the full text of the case, which is only a click away.

Follow these steps to create your custom chart:

  1. Select Topic(s). For example “Most Commonly Searched Topics”

  2. Click  and choose desired year(s), back to 2007.
    For example: 2014 and 2013

  3. Click to view the resulting customized chart
