Bobbi A. Weaver at California Western School of Law wins Wolters Kluwer Law & Business Innovations in Law Librarianship Award

The Wolters Kluwer Law & Business Innovations in Law Librarianship award is presented to a member of the Special Libraries Association Legal Division who demonstrates innovation and creativity in solving problems or improving resources, programs, services or operations for law library professionals and the clients they serve.

This year’s winner, Bobbi A. Weaver, is the Foreign & International Law Reference Librarian at California Western School of Law. After surveying the student body to determine their greatest areas of interest, Bobbi developed a new course called Specialized Legal Research: Business Resources. Initially, she taught the course every other year, but due to its popularity, it is now offered every Spring semester.

It’s a pleasure to recognize Bobbi for her accomplishments and the value she adds to the law library at California Western.

TRAINING & CUSTOMER SUPPORT

Training Tip for IntelliConnect

Question: What's the best way to find my previous IntelliConnect research on an issue without recreating the wheel? For example, a new research request is on an issue I vaguely recall researching previously, but don’t remember when or for whom I did the research.

Answer: Your research history is saved on IntelliConnect for one year and is searchable. To access, log in to IntelliConnect and click the History command in the upper right corner of your screen.

A tab will open showing your last 30 days of research activity (both Documents viewed and Searches you ran) listed in reverse chronological order on the right panel. Use the Page links at bottom to navigate to older history or the “Items per page” feature in lower right corner to increase the number of items displayed per page.

Use Filter by Date in the left panel to change the time frame of your History that is displayed on the right; e.g., Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, Any Day, or a specific date range.

To search for specific research activity, enter a search term in the “Search History” field at top of left panel, choose a History Type (All, Recent Documents or Recent Searches), select your Filter by Date settings and click Go. Your search term will be highlighted in the resulting list on the right panel. Simply click on a document to open it or click on a search to re-run it. Note: The search will include all prior results plus any documents that have been added to IntelliConnect in the meantime.

For example: Search of IntelliConnect History since January 1, 2015 for the term:  s-k.

TIP: The Document Notes command works similarly to History—allowing you to review/search all the Notes & Highlights that you’ve added to IntelliConnect documents.
