The Intercontinental Exchange® completed their acquisition of the New York Board of Trade (NYBOT) in 2007, and is now known as ICE Futures U.S., Inc. This substantive change required a complete reissuance of the existing CCH New York Board of Trade Guide under the new name. This month, all subscribers to the New York Board of Trade Guide will receive a completely new binder, guidecards and content pages for the replacement product, the ICE Futures U.S., Inc. Guide—this is not a “new” subscription, and there is no charge for the reissuance.

Supreme Court Rejects Scheme Liability Theory Under Rule 10b-5

In Stoneridge Investment Partners, LLC. v. Scientific-Atlanta, Inc., the Supreme Court ruled in a 5-3 opinion, with the majority opinion rendered by Justice Kennedy (No. 06-43, Jan. 15, 2008), that secondary non-speaking actors said to have participated with a company in a securities fraud scheme were not liable in a private action under Rule 10b-5 since the acts of suppliers said to have participated in the fraud were too remote to satisfy the antifraud rule’s reliance requirement.
