Loislaw Accelerate 2.0—coming Summer 2009

The Loislaw online research service is being enhanced to better suit the needs of large law firms. Loislaw Accelerate 2.0 will offer the following capabilities:

Multiple documents and search results—as well as results from a GlobalCite or Find A Case search—can all be printed, saved and emailed
Find A Case enhancement allows you to input multiple citations and pull cites from documents with both text and case cites (e.g., an adversary’s brief)
Loislaw Smart Start homepage will show only products purchased by your firm
Case Law Widget lets you search all Loislaw case law by citation, case name or keyword. Because the widget is installed within your firm’s portal, there’s no need to navigate to a Website, log in or select a database before searching

CCH Corporate Secretary’s Guide redesigned and renamed Corporate Governance Guide

The CCH Corporate Secretary’s Guide has been completely redesigned and is now called the Corporate Governance Guide. As a result of changes in the corporate governance arena, the new Corporate Governance Guide, available in print and online, has been fine-tuned to more accurately reflect the current role of the corporate governance professional. The print version of the Guide has been reduced to two volumes, and new chapters have been added. Subscribers to the print version will receive new binders and guide cards in early July.

The title of the related newsletter, Corporate Directions Newsletter, has also changed and is now Corporate Governance Guide Update. The new name, along with changes to the newsletter’s format and layout, signals corresponding enhancements to the content and scope of coverage. Also new is an email feature allowing online subscribers to receive a PDF copy of the newsletter delivered via email immediately upon publication. Subprime Mortgage and Securitization Law Update newsletter is now the Financial Regulation and Reform Update

The newsletter will continue to provide increased focus on regulatory reform and the financial crisis as they have evolved from subprime lending issues. Capital raising, liquidity and bailout issues, foreclosures, mortgage fraud and abuses, and securitization issues are all included within the newsletter’s scope. Each monthly issue will include a featured story, while the Current Developments will provide daily updates to reflect the latest developments.

You can now use Tracker Search to set up an email alert to notify you when a new CCH Report Letter (e.g., Federal Securities, Government Contracts, Federal Banking) has been posted to CCH Internet Research NetWork for Business.

Click Preferences > Add Tracker Searches > scroll through available Tracker titles to find desired Report Letter > optional - click 'Narrow with search options' to add search expression to restrict the Tracker Search > Click blue 'Add' button next to the Tracker title > give your new Tracker a name & click OK. Turn on email delivery by clicking Preferences > Tracker Email Options > change No to Yes, provide your email address, select format and click Apply Changes.

Loislaw typically adds new cases to its databases within 24-48 hours after the cases are released. To view the most recent cases:

From the Loislaw Start Page, use commands under Jurisdiction:
Click Federal or State (and then desired state library)
Click the red R next to a case law database to display the most recent cases from that court, going back about 30 days
