UCLA, NYC Bar to Host M&A Tax Program
The UCLA Law Center for the Study of Mergers and
Acquisitions and the New York City Bar will jointly sponsor the 2007 Tax M&A
Institute. The live program will take place April 25, 26 and 27, 2007 at the New
York City Bar, with a video replay at the UCLA School of Law in Los Angeles on
June 7 and June 8, 2007.
The institute will explore current tax developments and
planning opportunities relating to mergers and acquisitions. Scheduled speakers
include nationally-recognized corporate tax specialists and senior Treasury
Department and Internal Revenue Service officials. Programs will address the
latest issues in latest issues arising in M&A, including 1) basic M&A
tax rules, 2) tax-free acquisitions, 3) spin-offs, 4) state tax planning, 5)
negotiating a corporate acquisition, 6) private equity, venture capital and LBOs,
7) tax accounting issues, 8) international transactions and 9) ethical issues in
daily tax practice.
